If i understand your question i can safely say they've been doing it for at least 40 years.
Food ccx was excellent will be going back often
This place always brings back such great memories! The food is fantastic and prices are very reasonable. Great place to grab a quick lunch.
Good price good food except the salsa it's super salty.
Best Mexican food in Scottsbluff. It isn't spicy but the quality is high and very affordable! Pictured is the beef taco and a plate containing the beef enchilada with rice and beans.
Slow drive threw, but food is really good
Fried tacos are awesome! Reminds me of Indian Fry Bread. This place is “fast food” but as good as or better than any fancy sit down restaurant I’ve been to!
This is the sorriest excuse for Mexican food I have ever had in my life. Doesn't actually deserve the one star.
Best thing is the pork Chile and hot sauce. Hadn't been in a while but was very happy with everything. Now I just need to go back and get quart of the Chile and some hot sauce for my enchiladas at home.
Food is always excellent constant since 1970's
Extreamly slow service called in order so i wpuld not have to wait in lobby still had to wait 30 min in lobby
Great service, reasonable price.
Pretty decent Mexican food for Nebraska. The pork chili is awesome, get it as a side. The service is adequate the ambiance is ok but the food makes up for it all.
Taco Town is an icon in Scottsbluff. However the last few times we were in town and went there have not been good experiences. The wait was 25 minutes for our food and it was not busy at all. Our tacos were greasy and overcooked and our enchilada had spots with clumps of cheese that were not melted. Very disappointed.
Nice atmosphere.cool place. Friendly people.I didn't like the food. I ordered the platter, and I thought it didn't really taste homemade. It might be good for Nebraska. I'm used to Mexican food that you order in Spanish. A lot of non Mexicans seem to like this place. The hot sauce is good. That tastes homemade. Beans taste canned and loaded with preservatives.
The food is always really good.
I recommend the soft tacos. The taco filling is locally famous for the unique recipe that uses GREEN PEAS as an ingredient. The regular soft tacos are fabulous. There I said what had to be said.
Good food & friendly staff
That place is so good I can't wait to go back I even got 12 tamales to go yum thanks guys
Like many I have been eating here since the 70's and until today would have given it 5 stars. I know the price of food is going up but what is a taco without meat, would have gotten more meat in a taco bell taco for half the money. There was noticeably less cheese in the enchilada too. Very dissapointed.
The service was quick when dining in over lunch. The food was delicious and prepared correctly. Staff was friendly and helpful. They brought our food to us. The floor and tables were all very clean. The environment was comfortable and pleasant. I will return and recommend this establishment.
Food & service is always the best. Give them 10 🌟
Taco town is a true hometown local business and should be tried if your looking for fast local food. Now with that said I will admit I have given them 3 stars due to a decline in quality over the last few years. The food has a good taste to it the beef is seasoned and has a good "zing" to it. The fried taco shells are great and a perfect blend of crisp and flavor. The cheese enchiladas when made right are a local favorite. Now the bad. The store has issues with consistency most times are good but you can end up with a plate of cold bland mush. Now I will advise they are good with fixing Any issues just don't expect 5 star Mexican food. Over all please check out this Nebraska gem and enjoy.
The food was good, the sizes of portions are normal to maybe a little small for a Mexican Restaurant. The place was clean and staff was friendly. And yes! They are the "Taco of the town"
Simple food. Ok for quick bite.
Love the food and love the people and atmosphere!
Cross between fast food and sit down mexican. The food was good and the guy at the cash register was hilarious. The prices were a little high in my opinion, but the horrible. Hopefully they will have a taco using a pepperoni pizza as the shell someday(look up taco town Saturday night live).
Great (American) Mexican food!
Food wasn't good. Staff was polite. They put green peas in there taco meat. Which really is gross because I am allergic to them. Never been to a place that does that. But anyway. Lots of fillers in there food. Kinda expensive for what you get. You dont get much food for you buck. Restaurant is some what clean.
This place has amazing food.
20 $$ for 2 enchilada plates that I could barely cut and tasted like they rolled in great value hot sauce...
Great locally owned mexican restaurant
We always look forward to going here when we come to town. It has the best tacos! They also have some interesting things like deep fried ice cream.
The food and the margaritas are very good!
People of every for me And the food is very good
This place has always been amazing since as long as I can remember. I grew up in the area & whenever I'm back in town there are two places to eat that I absolutely have to hit up. Pro tips: Taco Town is known for their combination platter. You get a gigantic taco (ask for it "fried light" for a treat) a delicious tostada, a cheese enchilada & then a side of refried beans & rice with some pork chili on top; mild or spicy. The spicy isn't overly spicy IMO but adds a nice bit of flavor profile. Getting a side of pork chill to slather on your enchilada is another tip & money well spent. They updated the inside & it feels much warmer now. The tables & chairs could use an overhaul too as they're not very comfortable. That's about the only negative keeping them from five stars. For real, honest to goodness Mexican food on this side of the border it's tough to beat Taco Town. I've brought people from all over the world & have yet to have anyone tell me they didn't enjoy Taco Town.
Great Mexican food, best in town
Used to dine here often in my youth. Tacos were even better than I remember! May have to make the drive back from Denver more often.
I've had tacos across the country and have never found any that compare to these. Those who have had these go out of their way to have them again any time they are within range. Try them and you'll see what I mean.
Worst experience ever the lady was completely rude had no manners what so ever forgot some of our order and when we went up to get the rest of it she didn’t say a word to us. The food wasn’t even good my rice was burnt and hard you couldn’t even chew it.
It's an amazing place to eat food is great kids and I love it...
This place is over priced for the quality of their food. Used to be the bomb place to go back in the day. Just not the same since family owned.
Cheap, but has decent quality fresh food delivered to your table fast, & is easily located on the far west end of town.
This was my first Mexican food way back in 1975. It is the standard against which all other Mexican food has been measured and left wanting. Definitely worth a stop as you drive through town. The enchiladas are fantastic and the tacos are made with flour tortillas which should always be an option .
Childhood favorite! Every summer as a kid we would go see my great grandma and all get Taco Town, over the past few years they have really done some updates and it's much nicer and more clean which I love! A MUST GO TO place when in that area!!
Very very salty beef enchilda. I like salt but couldn't eat it.
It's called "Taco" Town, and tacos are the first thing on the menu, so I figured I would try a couple of those. They were really quite boring. This taco "comes with ground beef, cheese, lettuce, and tomato" she said. Mine had one small chunk of tomato on it. Where there was cheese, it wasn't bad, but there wasn't enough to save it. The hot sauce on the tables was awful. I had a cheese enchilada because I figured the tacos weren't big, but I was wrong about that. The tacos were too big. The enchilada was actually pretty good, but that was just because it was a good mix of cheese - otherwise there would have been nothing special about it. So, it's fine, but nothing to go out of your way for.
Always fast and friendly service and great food.
I've been eating at Taco town since it opened this was by far the worst Mexican food I have ever ate. Enchiladas were uncooked and slimy, taco's dripping with grease and fell apart while eating it ! And how do you run out of rice on a Tuesday night?? ( Poor management) I am done with this sub par establishment go across the street for a good meal Taco De Oro !!
Fantastic tacos and flautas. The manager fixed our messed up order even though I am the one who messed it up. That shows great integrity to me. I'll definitely be back and always recommend this place for great tacos. They also have Tecate, which is great beer for Mexican food. Thanks guys!!!
I'll admit it, I stopped to get a photo of the cheesy slogan, "We're the taco the town!" and I decided I'd eat while I was there. The special was a combination plate that was surprisingly good. The salsa seemed homemade and the ingredients were fresh. Even though it was standard Tex Mex, I think I could have done a lot worse for food. It's certainly not as good as some of the more authentic Mexican restaurants in the area, though.
